About Healx

Healx is a directory where families find independent caregivers in their area, and talk to them directly.

Why it exists

Home care agencies typically charge a family a good deal more per hour than the caregiver actually receives. The difference pays for the agency in between. For families who are able to arrange care themselves, that middle layer is expensive, and for caregivers it is a large share of their own hourly rate.

Healx removes the middle layer. Caregivers publish their own listing and set their own rate. Families search, read, and decide who to contact. What the two of you agree is entirely between you.

What Healx is not

This part matters, so it is worth being blunt about it. Healx is not a home health agency, a staffing agency, or an employer. We do not assign anyone to anyone, set or negotiate rates, schedule work, supervise care, or take a cut of what a caregiver earns.

Caregivers listed here are independent professionals working for themselves. Choosing who to hire, checking references, and deciding the terms are yours to do. We are the place you found each other, and that is the whole of it.

What we do check

Where a caregiver lists a licence or certification, we look it up in the relevant public registry and show what we found, including the registry name and the date we checked. That badge means one thing: on that date, that credential was active in that registry.

It is not a background check, not an endorsement, and not a statement that someone is right for your family. Credentials can lapse after we look. Companions, who need no licence, are listed and labelled as unverified.

What it costs

Searching and reading profiles is free, with no account. Families pay a one time $30 fee to message up to 5 caregivers over 30 days. Caregivers list for free, and pay $10 per month to stay listed and reachable once families start contacting them.

Payment for care itself never touches Healx. That is arranged directly between the family and the caregiver.

Where we are

Healx operates in Kansas, starting around Emporia. The rules covering services like this are written state by state, so we open a state only once we have read them, rather than turning everything on and hoping.

Healx is operated by 4vrLive, LLC, a Kansas limited liability company. Read our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, or get in touch.
